1921 Buffalo
All-Americans 7 Attendance: n/a The
Buffalo All-Americans lost their first game of the season to the Chicago
Staleys 10-7. The Staleys scored first when Chaimberlain intercepted a
Buffalo pass and ran 70 yards, practically untouched,
for the score. Buffalo
could not score until the third quarter, when Huffine punted from his own
15 yard line. “Swede” Youngstrom broke through the line and blocked
the punt, with “Steamer” Horning falling on the ball for the score.
The final score came on a 20 yard Sternaman field goal.
It was a hard fought battle between these two teams, and both teams proved that they are the best in the league. In contrast to their meeting earlier in the season, this game was fairly clean, with few injuries. Neither team needed to substitute players.
