Jeffersons 0 Attendance: 2,800 It was a blustery
day at Buffalo’s Baseball Park as the Prospects went on to win 20-0. It
was a dangerous day to play football, with players slipping and skidding
in the field. Ray Provensha, Bill Kibler, “Torchy” Sullivan and
Quigley sprained their ankles in the contest. In the first
quarter, Buffalo got on the board with a forward pass from Austen Lake to
Schwartzer for 20 yards. Segal missed the goal from touchdown. The quarter
ended with the Prospects on the Rochester 1-yard line. On the second play
of the second quarter, Buffalo’s Watkins scored with Bleich kicking the
goal. There
was no scoring in the third quarter, but the Prospects got another
touchdown in the fourth. Smith’s punt was blocked near the Rochester
20-yard line. Three plays later, Bill Gehring scored the touchdown with
Woodman kicking the goal.
