Jeffersons 0 Attendance: 10,000 The
Rochester Jeffersons could not come close to scoring against Buffalo as
the All-Americans won easily, 28-0. Early in the first quarter, Buffalo
drove to the Jefferson 10 yard line but was not able to score. They turned
the ball over on downs. Jim Laird punted the ball 60 yards, but
“Ockie” Anderson made a spectacular return. Buffalo’s drive,
however, stalled before reaching the endzone, and turned the ball over on
downs. Rochester punted again, with Buffalo having a good return. The next
drive Buffalo drive moved the ball to the Jefferson 15 yard line. A
brilliant 15 yard run by Anderson took the ball over the goal line for the
first score of the game. The second Buffalo touchdown came from a “Heinie” Miller to Anderson forward pass early in the second quarter. The third touchdown came when “Johnny” Scott threw himself over the Jefferson line for the score. The final touchdown of the game came with Nash blocking Laird’s punt. Nash blocked the Jeffersons from recovering the ball while Bill Ward picked it up and ran over the goal line for the score.
