Jeff Jaeger forced overtime by kicking a 27 yard field goal with 33 seconds left in the fourth quarter, then kicked a 42 yard field goal 8:51 in to overtime to put the Bears in the win column for the first time this preseason. Buffalo drops to 0-2.

Todd Collins threw a 17 yard touchdown pass to Quinn Early in the first quarter. The Bears tied it up in the second when Bobby Engram caught a 50 yard touchdown pass from Rick Mirer, who went 6-10 for 81 yards.

Steve Christie kicked a 23 yard field goal with 1:56 left in the second, but the Bears scored with 19 seconds left on a 6 yard touchdown pass from Erik Kramer to Ricky Proehl.

The Bills took a 17-14 lead over the Bears with 6:09 left in the fourth quarter on a 37 yard touchdown pass from Billy Joe Hobert to Mitchell Galloway. Hobert was 8-17 for 91 yards, while Collins went 10-19 for 150 yards.

Bruce Smith was on the sidelines, but did not play.
